My Quick Review and Thoughts:

I really enjoyed this film. Allen Ginsberg is one of my favorite poets and writers of all time. He was such a gifted imaginative word master. Loved the reality of this movie. I felt all the performances where amazing. A wonderful cast of actors. The direction was solid. I enjoyed the flow of the film. I think what stands out is the flawless performances and chemistry between Radcliffe and DeHaan. I loved the reality of and exploration of these group of word masters. From Ginsberg to Jack Kerouac to William S. Burroughs. Yes the facts have been altered and changed and there is disputes on the truth of the murder and so on, but that still does not take away the amazing acting performances and interesting plot of this set of friends. I enjoyed the film and felt it was a great drama and situation in history that only the ones there know what truly happened. I loved the sets and costumes and everything about the film gave itself a unique and original piece of cinema that I feel shines in all its film making reality. I think what is so grand about this film is the director. This is John Krokidas directorial debut and I think for a first feature film he aced it. I loved the movie. I just have to say on a side note DeHaan’s eyes are spectacular, beautiful and soul inducing.
